How To Choose The Right PVC Hose: A Technical Guide For Industrial & Commercial Use
Aug 26, 2026| PVC hoses are widely used in industrial production, agricultural irrigation, and commercial piping systems due to their flexibility, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness. However, selecting the wrong hose can lead to bursting, hardening, or inefficiency. Consider these three key criteria during selection:
Working Pressure & Reinforcement Structure:
- Unreinforced Clear Tubing: Best for low-pressure or gravity-fed fluid observation, such as laboratory drainage and aquariums.
- Polyester Braided Reinforced Hoses: Ideal for medium-to-high pressure applications like air compressor lines, pesticide spraying, and high-pressure washing.
- Steel Wire Reinforced Hoses: Designed for negative-pressure suction or anti-kinking needs, such as water pump suction and solid particle conveying.
- Conveyed Medium Properties: Water, air, oil, and gas interact differently with PVC material. For oil transfer, oil-resistant PVC formulations are required, while gas delivery mandates anti-aging and flame-retardant properties.
- Ambient & Medium Temperatures: Standard PVC hoses typically operate between -5°C and 65°C. For extreme cold or heated environments, specially formulated low-temperature resistant or high-heat resistant hoses should be specified.
