First, daily inspection is the foundation of steel wire braided rubber hose maintenance. Before use, carefully observe the surface of the hose for abnormalities such as cracks, bulges, wear, or corrosion, especially at joints and bends, as these areas are prone to stress concentration. If the outer steel wire braid layer is found to be loose or broken, it should be replaced promptly to avoid affecting the overall pressure-bearing capacity. In addition, check whether the hose has deformed due to long-term compression or twisting, ensuring it is in its natural extended state to avoid structural damage caused by residual stress.
Second, correct installation and usage methods directly affect the service life of the hose. During installation, avoid excessive stretching or sharp bending; the bending radius must not be less than the minimum allowable value for the hose, otherwise it will accelerate the fatigue fracture of the internal steel wire layer. When using in high-pressure environments, ensure the hose's rated pressure matches the system's working pressure to prevent bursting due to overpressure. Avoid contact between the hose and sharp objects or corrosive chemicals; if necessary, install a protective sleeve or wrap it with abrasion-resistant material.
Cleaning and storage are equally important. After use, promptly remove oil, dust, or chemical residues from the hose surface to prevent corrosive substances from penetrating the inner layers. For long-term storage, hang or lay the hose flat in a dry, well-ventilated environment, avoiding direct sunlight or humid conditions that can cause rubber aging. Avoid storing the hose under heavy objects and keep it away from heat sources or areas with high ozone concentrations to prevent material deterioration.
Regular maintenance and proper use are key to extending the lifespan of steel wire braided hoses. Through standardized inspections, correct operation, and scientific storage, not only can the hose's working efficiency be improved, but safety hazards can also be effectively reduced, ensuring stable equipment operation.
