Overpressure use: Letting the hose operate "beyond capacity" for a long time
- Different types of rubber hoses have specific pressure-bearing ranges. Overpressure usage is one of the main causes leading to the damage of the hoses.
- For example, using a fiber-woven tube to transport medium-pressure oil, or allowing a steel-woven tube to bear an excessive pressure beyond the rated value, will cause the steel wire layer or fiber reinforcement layer inside the hose to remain in an excessively stretched state for a long time.
- As the usage frequency increases, the reinforcement layer will gradually experience fractures and aging, eventually leading to a burst pipe accident and endangering production safety.
Brutal Bending: The area where the bending occurs becomes the most severely damaged area.
- During the operation, if the rubber hose is "roughly bent", especially into a "dead bend" with two folds, it will seriously damage the internal structure.
This bending method will directly squeeze and break the steel wire or fiber reinforcement layer in the middle, destroying the overall sealing and load-bearing properties of the hose. After long-term use, the hose is prone to cracks and leaks at the bending point, and eventually becomes completely damaged.
- The correct approach is to maintain a large-angle bend or use a bendable joint to assist in turning, avoiding the reinforcement layer from being damaged by force.
Mixing of different media: Corrosion failures caused by incorrect use of pipes
- The material of the rubber hose is specific to the corresponding conveying medium. Mixing different media randomly will cause corrosion problems.
- If an ordinary rubber hose is used to convey corrosive liquids such as gasoline and strong acids, the rubber on the inner wall of the hose will be eroded and dissolved by the media. This not only leads to the damage and detachment of the inner wall but also causes impurities to clog the related equipment, affecting production efficiency;
- In severe cases, it will directly cause the hose to burst and leak liquid, resulting in safety hazards and material waste.

Forming a habit of standard usage and avoiding the above three major pitfalls can extend the service life of the rubber hose by at least twice.
At the same time, following standard procedures can reduce problems such as equipment downtime and material leakage caused by hose damage, providing a guarantee for the stability and safety of the production process.
